Morning January 3 to Evening January 17, 2270 & ED Year 11, Days 147-191.
With New Yearâs past them and the impending move coming up, life outside of ED was full of upheaval as the cleanup and preparation started. Alex also still found himself pulling 22-hour days three days a week, with him only taking four hours during the other four days to have some time outside meals to be with his wives and children. The good news was that they were finally able to relax as the heightened security that came with the extra visitors had ended. Though, Kate still had the whole staff being extra vigilant as with the move-in date set for Valentine's Day, she didnât want any issues to crop up before then. The exact date of the move remained a closely guarded secret that only Alex and his wives knew, as everyone was expecting them to celebrate the day rather than moving. Though the rest of those living with him would know a week or two before they left. Plus, the move-in dates for others started on the 21st of February and it didnât make sense to move too much before then.
With the plan being to fill 100 bedrooms a day, or put another way, it would take 150 days to fill what was currently having the finishing touches done. Which was when the first buildings of phase two were set to come online and phases three to five were already mostly funded. Each were on pace to start coming online right after the one before it, now that everything was running at full capacity with the workers. With the plans to continually fill 100 rooms each day, whether that was a three-bedroom unit with families, or four single FAE members who would be sharing a single room, Alex was expecting things to move quickly. Especially as all the members of FAE who would be moving in during phase one were already set and they were just waiting for their turn to move in.
This was creating a logistical nightmare for those who were overseeing everything, to include Harrison Barnes and Tara. It was also causing Sam, Kate and Amanda to spend more time offline, as they focused on the issues that kept popping up with getting everything arranged for pickup and delivery to the guild city. Thankfully, they had been able to focus on moving those in one region first as they had all of the shipments sent to one localized area, from where it was transported the rest of the way as one shipment. That said, the smallest of the shipments had already been shipped by the 17th, as 45 days was the lead time that they were working on, and required at least five train cars with most requiring at least seven.
Even so, everything was being handled and FAE was set to host a massive party in July, once the first phase was completely occupied. It would be the official opening of the city, as phase two would be when non-FAE members would become more common than FAE members.
